What types of births do you support?

A midwife is a trained medical professional who provides healthcare and delivers babies, while a doula is a non-medical birth support person who offers emotional and physical support during labor and childbirth.

What’s the difference between a doula and midwife?

Our dedication to holistic care, our commitment to serving as a steadfast ally for mothers, and our unwavering belief in the power of community and movement sets us apart. We're here to support, educate, and empower you throughout your journey.

Why should I choose Me & She Doulas instead of another doula team, or just going alone?

Please visit our community page for details on each class or workshop and find registration links. If you have issues registering or have specific questions about a class, please contact us directly.

How can I register for a class or workshop?

Our birth doula services start at $1,500, while postpartum doula services begin at $35/hr. Placenta Encapsulation is offered at $300. There may be additional travel fees, and discounts are available for birth doula clients opting for placenta encapsulation.

What is the fee for your birth doula, postpartum doula, and placenta encapsulation services?

Yes, we understand that every family has unique financial circumstances, and we offer payment plans to ensure our services are accessible to as many families as possible.

Do you have payment plans?

A doula serves as your advocate, guiding light, and reassuring presence. They can amplify your voice, ensure you're informed about every decision, and empower your entire birth experience.

How does having a doula enhance my birthing experience and postpartum experience?

Our birth doula services include prenatal visits, birth preference planning, comfort measures during labor, postpartum follow-ups, and much more. Our postpartum doula services encompass aspects like light holistic meal preparation, assistance with newborn care, and support through postpartum mood disorders.

What do your birth doula services and postpartum doula services include?

Placenta Encapsulation is a process where your placenta is turned into capsules, chocolates, or tincture after birth. Many believe it offers benefits like balancing hormones, increasing milk supply, and combating postpartum depression, among others.

What is placenta encapsulation, and how can it benefit me?

A postpartum doula assists families in the transitional period after welcoming a new baby. They offer support in areas like holistic meal preparation, newborn care, and sibling adjustment. They can provide referrals and support for postpartum mood disorders, help with light housework, and even offer guidance in understanding your newborn's cues. They are there to ensure the new mother feels cared for and empowered in her new role.

What can a postpartum doula do for me?

A birth doula offers emotional, physical, and informational support during labor and childbirth. They empower you to voice your birth preferences, offer comfort measures and relaxation techniques during labor, and provide resources to help you make informed decisions. They act as a guiding hand, ensuring you feel supported and confident in your birthing choices.

What can a birth doula do for me?

For birth doula services and placenta encapsulation, we serve the Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Northern Kentucky, and Eastern Indiana areas. Postpartum doula services are exclusively offered in the Greater Cincinnati area. Travel fees might apply depending on your location.

What areas do you serve?

The Community Doula Program is a flagship initiative by Me & She Doula Services. Designed to empower black mothers and families, this program bridges the gap in access to doula services and childbirth education. It addresses the challenges rooted in medical racism and inadequate healthcare. The program offers holistic doula support, ensuring safer, educated, and more empowering birth experiences. With various sponsorship tiers, the community can directly contribute to positively impacting maternal and infant outcomes in the Greater Cincinnati area.

What is the Community Doula Program, and how does it support black mothers?

Our team is made up of passionate individuals led by our Founder & Owner, Sesheta Tafari. Every doula in our team brings a unique blend of experience, expertise, and personal touch to their role. They're not just birth professionals; they are your village of mothers, nurturers, and advocates for holistic wellness and womanhood.
